Directions:
We are located in historical Centro Mazatlan at 320 Mariano Escobedo (very easy to find and most all the taxis know where we are).  Another landmark --- we are about 1 block from the plaza machado.  If you are driving from the Golden Zone to the spa, take the malecon towards downtown, turn left on Belasario Dominguez….about 2 miles we are close to the corner of Belasario Dominguez and Mariano Escobedo.

Cruise Ship Clients:  We are located only 4 minutes by taxi from the cruise ship port in centro historical Mazatlan.  A taxi will cost you between $5 to $10 dollars ($50 to $100 pesos) to get to the spa.  Walking is not reccommended.  Most cruise ships want you back on the ship by 5pm, so consider that when making your appointment. Also, getting a taxi from the spa to the cruise ship is very easy and quick.

Operational Hours:  The spa is open Monday thru Saturday, 9am to 8pm.   We recommend that you make your appointment as one of the first things you do when you arrive in Mazatlan.  Why? Because we know you are going to love it so, so much, that you will want to return often before you leave.

This is my first time at a spa. What can I expect? When you enter the Spa, check-in at the reception desk. The Spa coordinator will introduce you to your therapist that will escort you to your treatment room. The therapist will leave the room and you will have an opportunity to disrobe and situate yourself on the treatment table under a towel. Your body will be covered at all times during the treatment, with the exception of the part of your body the therapist is treating. This will be exposed briefly for treatment and then re-covered. The relaxing day begins.

How early should I arrive for my treatment? We highly recommend arriving 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.

Should I tip my therapist? 18 to 35% is customary in destination spas or $50 to $100 pesos per hour of service. Our prices are low to encourage generous tipping for exceptional, high quality service. Even tho, tips are a big part of the therapists income, tips are optional. In appreciation of outstanding service, additional gratuities may be given at your discretion. Gratuity envelopes are located at the front desk for your convenience if you would prefer to leave a cash gratuity or simply give it to your therapist directly.

What is the difference between a 1 hour massage and a 2 hour massage? There is a big difference. In a 1 hour massage, the therapist works many of the muscles in groups whereas in a longer massage, the therapist can work each muscle separately and with a lot more detail in all parts of your body. Additionaly, some people find themselves just starting to relax at the end of a 1 hour massage and really benefit from the extra time.

Is there anything I should avoid prior to a spa treatment? We recommend that you refrain from eating within one hour prior to receiving massage.

What should I expect during my massage? Will I be covered? You will be modestly draped with towels throughout your massage. However, if you feel more comfortable keeping minimal under garments on, that’s fine. We want you to relax. If you prefer to be draped with a sheet, simply ask the therapist.

How far in advance do I need to book a Spa treatment? We recommend scheduling your spa appointments well in advance for the widest selection of treatments, services and appointment times. No deposit or credit card is necessary at the time of booking to secure your appointment. Walk-ins are always welcome, based on availability. Please advise us at the time of scheduling of any health conditions, allergies, or injuries which could affect your service.

Is there someone to help me decide which treatments are best for me? Yes. A Spa Coordinator can help you plan a program to suit your needs and interests. Please make appointments well in advance of your visit to ensure availability.

Can the spa accommodate group bookings? Definitely! Just give us the details and we will put together a package that suits your needs! Currently, Aroma Spa can accommodate a group of 20 people at one time. Be sure to notify your group coordinator in advance if you would like any special arrangements such as a catered lunch or special beverage. No deposit necessary for group bookings.

How do I prepare for my spa visit? We suggest you wear comfortable clothing and do not bring jewelry or valuables to the spa. A locker is available for your personal belongings if desired.

Can I ask my therapist to make adjustments for my comfort? Absolutely. Your feedback is essential in providing you with the best service possible. After all, this is your treatment. Communicate with the staff regarding room temperature, pressure, technique, etc. We value your feedback. English speaking receptionists are available if needed.

May I request a male or female therapist or both? Yes, but it does limit your treatment options. All of our therapists are professionally trained in both treatment and draping protocols to ensure your comfort at all times. While we will make every attempt to honor your request, with our scheduling demands we cannot always guarantee your choice of therapist.

Are their any health conditions that I need to disclose before my appointment? If you are highly allergic to certain items, please let the receptionist know so that those products can be avoided.

Should I visit the spa if I’m pregnant? Yes, by all means. Our treatment specialists are fully trained to provide special treatments and services that are safe during pregnancy.

How often can I return to the Spa? Daily or even twice in the same day is very common especially if you here visiting for only a short time.

Are Kids welcome in the Spa? Aroma Spa is a family friendly spa. Kids(future spa goers) are welcome to try all of the services the spa offers and at a discount. Couples rooms are also available. No babysitting is provided at this time.

Are there any health benefits to visiting the spa? Absolutely! The most obvious are the benefits derived from relaxation. Many of the services have therapeutic benefits, all of which are intended to help your body restore its natural balance.
